bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yay
Now that the World Series is over and I finally finished reading World Without End I am able to focus back on my blog. This post is not about the song, bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yay by Atomic Dog, but I do love that song. This is about two different kinds of people; dog people and the not so dog people. I fall under the category of the NOT so dog people. I don’t hate dogs. I just don’t want them all over me. I don’t want to offend anyone [or animal] by this post, just explaining it my way. I have a dog, Gus. He’s really cool. He understands me. I moved in with my boyfriend (who is ALL about some freaking dogs) and his three dogs. But over the last couple months one of his dogs, Prissy, died. That now makes a total of three dogs living in this household.
I don’t want my pets on my furniture ever. I don’t want pets kissing me on the mouth. I don’t mind talking to them or giving them a treat. Hell, they can even lick me. I will walk them and take them to the doctor. They are cute, adorable and always loyal. But when a dog goes outside and rolls around in the dirt, shits and urinates and then runs back inside to get on your bed, couch or whatever but no one stopped to wipe their butt makes me cringe. Ahhh hello! No one thinks that’s a little gross? Then there is the slobber. One of Paul’s dogs is a bulldog. He slobbers like Hooch from the movie, Turner and Hooch. It is so nasty. Yes, I know I’m the minority here. Most of the dogs I am referring to are big dogs. Small dogs are less dirty, I think.
Now to dog-people…. they kiss their dogs on the mouth, let their animals sleep with them and even feed them with the same eating utensils they are using. Or should I say, most dog people. By my statistics. According to Chesterfield Patch, Dogs have been known to eat barf and their own waste on occasion and even eat another dog’s waste, horse or cow manure, or even help themselves to the kitty litter. Then they come running to see you and try to kiss your face. Some people are ok with this. I am not. Sorry to be so graphic. Just trying to get the point across.
Like I said before, I think dogs are cute. But I don’t think people should have dogs if they don’t have the time or money to devote to them. Just like children. They need to be current with their shots and kept up. Some people get dogs and don’t love on them or never take them to the doctor or disciple them. My boyfriend has a dog named Nubb that he thinks is practically human. He takes him everywhere he goes. He made him a facebook page (Nubb Shelby), gave him a wallet that he deposits a weekly allowance into and treats him like a very spoiled son. He has more conversations with Nubb then me. There is nothing wrong with having pets that are properly care for. In fact, that is great! I love my dog. I just get a little grossed out with animal habits. Does anybody know what I mean?
